bOLT FAQ
What is the Bulldog Bolt?
The Bulldog Bolt is Waverly Belmont Elementary School's school-wide fundraiser. It kicks off Friday, September 5th and goes through Thursday, October 9th. During that month, we will ask families, community members, and other WB supporters to donate whatever money they can to support our school goal. Each student has their own fundraising account on Fund Hub. With this account, classrooms and grade levels will receive rewards for registering and raising funds such as keychains, ice cream parties, and other WB swag and parties! The fundraiser culminates with a Fun Run for all students on Thursday, October 9th where families are invited to cheer on their bulldogs as they run around Sevier Park!
Why do we have the Bulldog Bolt?
This fundraiser is the main way the PTO raises money to support the school. It’s organized intentionally around a few specific, higher-dollar needs for the school but money raised is also allocated to support discretionary funds which can address needs as they arise during the school year. It’s one fundraiser—but with a lot of elements over the course of a month to raise as much as we can!
What are we raising funds for this year?
Our goal is $125,000 which will help fund:
- 50% of Communities in School staff member which provides wraparound services to students facing barriers to success - connecting families with food, housing, and mental health resources.
- Playground expansion!
- Student equity & basic needs (many of our students face challenges beyond the classroom - this helps provide basic needs for these students as well as enjoy clubs and extracurriculars regardless of financial circumstances)
- Ongoing Teacher Request Fund and Principal Discretionary Fund for school-wide needs
How does my student get their own Fundraising page so they can earn their keychain!?
JUST FOR REGISTERING, your student gets a 2025 Keychain that you can customize with their information to throw on their backpack! Super cool!! Click this link to register your student(s) and add them to our Bulldog Bolt event! If you have had a Fund Hub account in the past, simply log in and connect to the event.
How much do I need to fundraise?
While $250 per student would help us hit our goal, there is no set amount! When we all give what we can, whether that is $5-$250, we make WB stronger and a better place for all of our students to learn and grow! There are some fun incentives for students to earn as individuals AND as a classroom. Check those out below!
Do you have any materials to help my family fundraise?
YES! We’re here to support you all the way! We’ve even created this awesome FUNDRAISING TOOL BOX with download-ables you can customize and more!
Are there t-shirts for this event?
YES! We’re back this year with another awesome t-shirt design. Orders have officially closed now, but if you forgot to order for your student, don’t worry! We also provide t-shirts for EVERY student and teacher/staff so your student will receive one even if you forgot to order. Shirts will go home the day before the run so they can wear them to school the next day. If you purchased shirts, or gifted shirts for students, teachers or staff, that money counts towards your student(s) fundraising goal, so being generous really paid off! Shirt money will be credited to your student(s)’ accounts soon, so make sure tehy are registered on FundHub to get credit!
My employer has a donation matching program. Can I use that for the Bolt?
YES! If your employer matches donations we’d love for you to explore that for the Bolt. Scroll down for instructions on how to make that happen! Every matched dollar goes twice as far to help our community.
